Esports tournament bracket leading toward an LCS championship stage

The lower-bracket gauntlet is the survival side of the LCS playoffs. A team can remain alive after entering or dropping into the lower path, but every following series becomes an elimination match.

Why seeding matters

Higher regular-season seeds receive a shorter or more favourable route. Lower seeds must defeat more opponents without a second mistake. The structure rewards months of consistent results while preserving the possibility of a late run.

What a gauntlet tests

Winning successive series demands more than one strong draft. Opponents receive fresh film, champion priorities change and fatigue accumulates. Coaching staffs must decide when to reveal a prepared strategy and when to save it.

How Worlds qualification raises the stakes

The top three LCS teams qualify for Worlds 2026. That means a lower-bracket series can effectively become an international qualification match even before the domestic final.

Fans should read the official bracket from top to bottom rather than assuming every team has the same number of lives. A team already in the lower side is immediately out after one loss.
