Poland's players celebrate the 2025 FIFAe eFootball title in an archival photograph

The FIFAe Finals 2026 will not take place in Jeddah on their original October 16–25 dates. FIFAe and the Saudi Esports Federation announced a postponement, with no replacement dates in the announcement. The change affects the planned global finals for the eFootball console and mobile competitions and Rocket League.

The news appeared on the official FIFAe X account, which is the direct announcement rather than an anonymous repost. Reuters independently reported the postponement and the organisers' stated concern about recent events and hosting logistics in Saudi Arabia.

The October calendar is no longer valid

FIFAe's event page had displayed matches from October 16 through October 25, including separate eFootball and Rocket League stages. That older schedule may still appear in search snippets or cached pages. It should not be treated as an active timetable after the postponement.

The announcement does not provide a new venue, a replacement week, revised brackets or an automatic ticket arrangement. Those details require direct communication from the organisers. Fans should check FIFAe's official channels before booking travel or assuming any scheduled stream will take place.

What happens to qualified teams?

The original competition brought national teams through qualification for multiple titles. A change in event date does not, by itself, settle whether every qualification, roster rule or bracket will carry over unchanged. FIFAe has not announced those operational details in the postponement statement.

Reuters reported that Japan and Brazil had withdrawn their esports teams amid safety concerns before the event was postponed. Their participation in any rescheduled edition cannot be inferred from the current announcement. An official event notice will be needed to establish how the field is handled.

This story belongs in our Gaming section, which also covers esports after MatchUpWorld's category consolidation. It concerns the live competition calendar, rather than a change to the consumer versions of eFootball or Rocket League.

A social post that warranted a news story

The FIFAe post is useful because it comes from the organiser and states a concrete change to dates that fans were searching. Replies and screenshots can spread much faster than the corrected schedule, so the wording matters: postponed describes the organisers' announcement; it does not establish that the entire 2026 championship has been permanently cancelled.
