Xbox’s release calendar for October 19–23 includes Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 on October 23 and Final Fantasy Resonance on October 22. The important detail for players planning their week is that an announced launch, an early-access window and inclusion in Game Pass are three separate things.
The October 16 Xbox Wire roundup confirms the upcoming schedule and notes that dates can change. Its scope includes different Xbox platforms, so appearing in the roundup does not mean every title supports every Xbox console.
The dates worth putting on the calendar
For Modern Warfare 4, Xbox Wire lists campaign early access beginning October 16 for eligible preorders. That means some campaign play can precede the main release; it should not be described as the entire game launching early for everyone.
Before purchasing any edition, compare the exact benefits on its local store page. A preorder bonus, an early-access entitlement and a general release date may be presented together even though each has its own conditions.
Modern Warfare 4 is not a Game Pass inclusion announcement
The official Xbox product listing says Modern Warfare 4 is not on Xbox Game Pass this year. It also lists Xbox Series X|S and Xbox on PC, with Xbox One excluded in the product description.
That distinction matters to existing subscribers. A subscription needed for a mode or service does not automatically provide a copy of the game. Check ownership, platform support and any multiplayer subscription requirement separately before deciding that an existing membership covers the purchase.
PC players should also read the current security requirements on the product listing rather than assume a machine that ran a previous entry is ready for the new one. The page names TPM 2.0 and Secure Boot, and points readers to Activision’s requirements.
Use the local store as the final check
The dates above are the published calendar dates, not a claim that every country unlocks at midnight local time. Pricing, edition details and availability can vary by storefront. Check the platform label and the entitlement attached to the account you will actually use.
For hardware context, our Xbox Nano Controller report covers a separate accessory announcement. More release coverage is in Gaming.
